    these shouldnt bend!

after looking under my 90 and seeing i have a bent trailing arm and not a mark on it. i figure its time to upgrade the offending items.
ive even managed to bend the washer that mounts to the rubber bush

so these are made out of 1 1/4 4140 and SOLID.

Make sure you check out the diff bracket, They can foul on down travel and something will give and break.

Overkill made up something similar for me, out of the stuff they use for buggies, landcrushers etc. Indestructible.

I bent one on Winchbreak Pass :-( Rotated the diff, broke u joints etc. Fortunately they were there when it happened, so no issues there. They laminated the next set. No problems since.

Phil, I don't want to be the bearer of bad tidings but your straight-edge is very bent - these arms are bent already.

    "1 1/4 4140 and SOLID."
I cant remember the specifics but someone here can surely explain this further...(shoot me down if I'm wrong too!!!!)

I've been led to beleive that a Solid round bar will bend well before a hollow tube.

I'll do a search later to back up my claim when I have more time sorry for the lack of info.

    Phil,
Do you have any more detailed or larger pics of how you did th pin arrangement?

I was going to get some appropriate tube the same ID as the OD of the originals, sleve and weld the pins on.

    Bit booty fab though...?

I can't remember if it as simple as that or whether it's pound for pound, tube is stronger - but I do remember hearing about the strength comparison somewhere.
