    Hi All

Thanks for your time with this and the advice given.

Some further advice from a Land Rover specialist made me decide not to buy a Discovery but an older model Holden Jackaroo diesel instead .

Basically the economic and reliable life span of a diesel discovery is 8-10 years or 200,000kms, which is what I thought anyway. After that it's a money pit (apparently).

If anybody wants the location details of the $9990.00 special I can give it to them. (south east melbourne).

    Thanks Again
    Regards

    Phillip.

Nothing wrong with a Jackaroo. So long as you know it is not as good offroad as a Disco. Should be far more reliable though. Unless of course it is the 4JX1 motor. They are a bit if a lemon it would seem.
