Thread: New injectors 300 tdi. Ok?

at that price they should be the genuine items although I've fitted several dozens of sets of the cheapies without issue (yet)

the tool for removing a tdi(x)00 injector is just a spanner, once you have the injector line off, the return line off you remove the locking fork and (depending on your bravery factor) either use an open ended spanner pivoting off of the threaded stud to lift it up or you unscrew the threaded stud, place a suitable piece of stock in place and use that as a fulcrum.

Unless the car hasn't been maintained very well, I'd more than likely say they will come out relatively easy.

I did mine a few years ago, and while they "don't just slide out" easily, they're not the 'skin grazing, blood letting, bastard type' of job either.
They allow you good access to get.

I really don't remember what tool I used to get any of the more difficult ones out, so I dare say I just used my hands, and maybe a bit of chubby checker .. twist this way and that and they popped out.


Obviously you got THE copper washers for them too, yeah?

I had a slight smoke issue with mine not long after I got it. Of course first thing comes to mind was injectors, and 330K klms of completely unknown usage by previous owners, I thought replace them to be safe .. etc.
Also while still keeping it as daily as a daily could be. I don't mind spares if needed for a future date or something like that too.

I found zero difference in either engine running manner, nor fuel consumption(other than standard variability).

Mine were similarly priced 50 or so years ago, I can't recall where I got them .. maybe paddocks maybe same product, came in a Bosch packaging, etc.

Right..well thats not very inspiring😬
Perhaps i will do the valve clearances, timimg belt, hybrid turbo, tune and then see how she goes. Injectors may be a waste of $$?
