Hi Stewie.
Engage your CDL,the light on the dash will show its engaged.
Turn key to the off position, must be off as the system actually allows for a restart after a stall without disableing the TC/ABS,as I discovered when my 12yo boy was driving on the beach whilst we were at Esperance.
On restart the TC and ABS lights will be on indicating they are disabled.
In normal off roading you need to get into the habit of unlocking the CDL before stopping, quite painfull when you want the traction control, which is very good everywhere except boggy beaches!!!!

This is an old post? Did you ever check your CDL switch was plugged in dobbo? my 02 had the wiring tapped back into the loom i just pulled it down and plugged it in.
BTW TC does slow you down on the soft sand, trust me, i have driven mine on stockton with CDL and TC, CDL without TC and just TC, the best in the softstuff is CDL and no TC by far and its alot less harsh on the vehicle, on the harder stuff, doesnt really make any difference at all.

This is a very old thread

Yes Dobbo
I think Stewie has done the search then asked his question.
Stewie, try engaging the CDL then driving forward/backward a bit they dont always engage strait away.

The ONLY bad thing about TC is that its REACTIVE as in after the slip starts.
Besides that seems to be a good thing.

I hear that every now and then, but I'm not sure why that makes it bad. The reaction time is sooo minimal and still light years ahead of pressurising a diff lock.

Thanks LandyAndy,
I have done heaps of searching on the web and in these threads to resolve my issues with CDL/TC/ABS. I have also tried the suggestion you made of driving forward/backwards with CDL engaged. I think I have it right in saying that if the red CDL light is on in the dashboard then CDL is engaged regardless of driving forward / backewards? I have tried this and then restarting the vehicle while the CDL is engaged. All I get when the computer does it's systems check is a red CDL light. No ABS or TC lights are lit????
This is driving me crazy as the LR mech I have spoken with who is very honest has assured me that he has fitted and seen working a CDL with no TC & ABS. I definately believe him , however I cannot get my D2 to perform the same.
