    Fender heater

I'm in southern vic (cold), my 1995 130 came from up north (warm). The fan is seemingly siezed (maybe was never used in the warmer climate), as whenever I tried to turn it on, it doesn't spin and blows the fuse.

I've never bothered with it (and the RWC missed it), but it's getting bloody cold this year.

Where is the fan located? Is it in the rivitted box on the passenger side of the firewall, or is it down near the passenger footwell...or other?

OR... does it sound likesomething different that someone else has exprerienced or knows of?

    hey

    i think

the heat exchanger is on the fire wall

and the fan is on the iside of the firewall passenger footwell

my heat exchanger sprung a leak last year so i have it bypassed at the moment, i tried the fan motor the other day and through no use it turn but makes one hell of a noise, quickly turned it off

Am I being niave thinking that the Landy heaters is actually effective? Coming from olde blightey, I would have thought you could cook your spuds with them,...But then there is the LRF (landrover factor) to take into consideration..

The solution to the cold is wear gloves and an old army trench coat. Thats what I'm doing as my heater keeps going on strike. Work has been hassling me for wandering in wearing my German great coat. New nick name is hitler.

Hey... If you think you've got problems, you should try driving a Defender in a European winter!!!!

don't know what all the fuss is. My heater is working fine. We've had a succession of -5 and -6 mornings and it is pumping out heat well before I hit the bitumen 6km away. No gloves, sometimes a beanie, usually just a hat and two jumpers at that time of day.

Probably helps mine is a crew cab, or maybe we're just tougher here in the bush...

Yea mine is a crew cab but when you can't get any heat out the unit there isn't much point to using it. I get regular -7.7. As for urope well thats cold there to. At least the Ice build up has stopped.

Obviously better dressed than your avatar, Rick.

It's a good likeness though. Trust me, for I was a Fridgie.
