Here's another photo - British 4WD sent it to me. Probably not the most flattering pic, but it gives a good idea of the finished installation.

I guess the next thing is how many people actually want to try and do a bulk deal. Might be a bit tricky since they would have to be posted all over the place. I liked the idea of finding who actually MAKES the things. $88 for such a simple piece of black plastic is just too much.

I'd suggest you get in contact with them and see if they'll do $75 each including postage if we give them an order of say 10 Obviously mention we're all AULRO members too

They sell them for $88 on their site, but $80 on ebay... and $13.40 postage australia wide... so lets say $75 rather than $93.40.

I'll take one for $75 delivered

    Okay here's the deal
they're a Land Rover Genuine item.
    Part No. RAA 613
That's why they cost so much.

Now does someone here work at Land Rover, or can someone approach Land Rover on behalf of the forum and get a better price.

I'm thinking we offer them free banner space for a whole year if they supply one for every Defender on the forum.

Otherwise I can get them for $80ea. But there's no margin for my supplier so I can't get a discount on bulk orders.

just on the phone to Land Rover now

    $69.75 + GSTea

$63.00 + GSTea for an order of 10+

That would make them $69.30ea + postage

Can anyone do a better deal through their contacts.

What ever happens put me down for one, and if it all falls over I'll buy my own.

I went to Supa Crap and bought 2 of those jobbies that are supposed to fit to the aircon vents. Removed the vent clip part and then used the hooky part of some sticky backed velcro strip which I attached to the base. These then sit inside the front open part of the cubby box and hook onto the felt.

Work a treat and are as cheap as chips with room between them for odds and ends

At that price I'm in - but if they are genuine can we just go in and pick one (or ten) up? If they can do that price for us over the counter it would be even easier - maybe we could just quote AULRO to get the discount.

That would be the easiest way. Does anyone deal with LRA on a professional basis and know who to contact about this? I won't be able to do it it would have to be someone who can represent the website. Dave or one of the moderators me thinks - someone who can sell some banner space.

Honestly, I don't know. I try to put the car inside the garage, not the garage inside the car.
