I had my oil cooler lines replaced about 3 years ago with pressure hose and hose clamps. The clamps are not your normal heater hose clamps though. Hasn't leaked since.

Once you've done them, can you post what the job was like and how much it cost?
I'm interested in doing mine as they leak a little too. When I was at Pirtek, I asked out of curiousity how much it would cost and he said around $40-$50 each hose...but he didn't want me to take that as an exact quote because he'd want the pipes off and work out cost of fittings etc.
On another matter, when I read the workshop manual on the procedure, I noticed that there is a thermostat to control to oil temp/flow. I know people religously check and replace coolant thermostats, should this one be checked and replaced too???
Hi all, we jobs done, i got the hoses made up they cost me $105 or there abouts for the two hoses. They had to cut the ends off where the rubber hose joined to the steel pipes and put their own fittings on, but they look the goods and dont look like they will be leaking any time soon. $105 might sound expensive for replacing 2 bits of rubber but new ones are $140 and they are guaranteed to leak again in 12 months time.
Job took me about 10 mins to get them off and about half an hour to get them back. I had trouble getting them on because the new pipe isnt curved so its hard to bend the stiff tubing around the corner to bolt in. When you get them to do it ask them to make the pipe slightly longer i had to really move stuff around to get the threads to take. Matt
Sounds like a good result Matt.
Did they specify the details of the work on the invoice...and are there photos?
Great news - As I said when I had mine done - they added two swivel joints - to make the assembly easier - I guess I could have done the longer hose route - but the swivel joint whilst added to the costs - was well worth while.Quote:

Regarding the photos, it would be excellent if ladas can get some photos of his with the swivel bit.
Any chance of that?
I will second that, would be interested to see how it works. MattQuote:
