    300tDi Brake vacuum Pump bolt holes

    I took a new brake vacuum pump to my mechanic for him to replace the original leaky one on my 1997 300tDi Defender but he said my original one has 4 bolts holding it to the engine whereas the new pump has 6 bolt holes so he can't see how it's going to fit.
    From my research my Defender's vacuum pump should have 6 holes.
    Does anyone know why my original has 4 bolts and is it possible to fit the new pump?

    Can't help with the 4 hole mystery ... only to reassure you that a 300tdi pump has 6! I happen to have one on the desk awaiting installation.

    I have a 95 and 96 300tdi and they both have 6 holes too.
