Thread: Latest 100" Hybrid

this is not my car - mate of mines, but he used my old Hybrid rolling chassis to build this over the last year and a half.

Hope you like, as I know how many hours has gone into this one.

and for anyone that is interested the specs are:

Rangie Chassis - about 1984 with Defender outriggers
3.5 V8 on straight gas
ZF 4 speed Auto
Maxi Front and Rear lockers
37" Maxxis Creepy crawlers on custom 16x8 rims

and of course - S1 body stretched to fit 100" wheelbase. the front is one piece and flips forward to access all mechanicals

All work has been done by Scott himself, assistance was supplied when he requested me and inspiration by Johny Walker and coke

Looks unreal.

How long are the LR axles going to stay under there for?

The rear atleast are maxi axels - but Scott does have in mind a model 2 verson of this truck with independents all around - this was started with a P38a front end being chopped up but found the parts either too hard to source or too expensive at the time. Hence the maxis - for the moment

and now this truck is almost complete - mark 1 version for the moment, Scott has decided to sell his other 100" Hybrid.

Current specs of the blue hybrid are:

1970s Rangie chassis
3.6 Isuzu Diesel
4 speed Rangie box
Defender / Series 3 body

Looks just like my 80", NOT ! . Scott's beast looks better & better every time I see it. When it's finished he can work on mine .

Thats mine in the corner of one of the shots - its now stored around a Scotty's place until my new garage/workshop is built!!!

Anway, having too much fun with the Rangie at the moment - this is a mere testing ground for the D100
