Has anyone successfully fitted a 300tdi steering pump on to a 110 Defender that is fitted with a 200 TDI? If so, how did you go about it? There are differences between the two models - it is not just a bolt off - bolt on venture.

Despite my sending a company the VIN and their guarantee that they were sending me the correct steering pump; I received a 300 TDI steering pump when I should have been sent a 200 TDI. It has been over a year since the part was bought and I worked my way around the car to fit the steering pump. So sending the pump back is not an option.

Lesson learnt - when you receive a part check it is the right one as soon as it arrives. Despite a supplier's 'guarantee'. Do not store the part away until later and then get an unpleasant surprise. I do have a Discovery 1 with a 300tdi so all is not lost - at least I have spare steering pump for it now.
