Narva 50 plus h4 replacement headlight bulbs?

Anyone heard anything good about the Narva 50 plus bulbs? They claim to give up to 50% more light than standard halogens. The are on special at Repco ATM for $20 a pair which is just a bit more expensive than the single buy (1 or 2 bucks). I went to super Crap and they had some that claimed the same but it was a brand that I didn't recognise. (Calibro or something). They were 30 bucks or something like that. I will get some of the Narva's tommorrow and let you know what they are like unless someone here says for sure that they are crap.

I got some a few months back.
I replaced a set of "superwhite HID lookalike" good for nothing blue painted globes (they came with the new lenses).
Prior to that, I had the sealed beams.

I'd say they are NOT 50% brighter, but the blurb on the packet says "50% more light, 20 metres longer beam".
Don't know if I'd agree with that, but they are better than what I had.

$20 a pair is a good price, so go for it.

Hi charliebrisbane, I had a problem with the Rangy continually blowing the standard H7 globes so I tried a set of the Narva 50+ and found absolutely no advantage from them over the standard globes.

It wasn't till I fitted Philips Crystal Vision globes that I got brighter headlights.

Just my experience with them, cheers.

As above, with our VW Golf. They are useless.

I put the Narva +50 in the Disco some time back and really noticed a difference, brighter light and better coverage on low beam. High beam was ok but not much difference. I did read somewhere that the +50 rating was only for low beam.

    as an aside...

You can get more than 50%+ by cleaning the lens and having good wiring.

    - advice from an autoelec friend.

It's amazing how many people have powerful globes and spotties, but filthy lenses.

I am with Micheal2, look after what you already have first! I like to use RainX on my windows and my headlights/driving lights to get the best results. Also think about a new windscreen, especially if yours has done a few Kms. Lots of insurance companies allow one per year at no cost. You won't realise how badly sand blasted the old glass is until you fit a new one.
