    Cooling Issues

    Hi All,
for a couple of weeks now I have noticed some times my TD5 has run colder than normal not completely down ust a little inside the running Zone on the gauge. Normally runs at half on the gauge all the time up hill and down dale towing or not off road or not.

The Mechanic and I thought I had a thermostat sticking open sometimes.

When changing the thermostat he noticd the viscous fan really loose in its mechanisim in all directions. We have figured that it is working intermittantly when it is not supposed to therefore cooling the engine.
Eg on the way to work 4 deg this morning and it was running fine most of the way. When nearly hear it started running cooler again. When I got here and checked it the fan was running.

    Does This make sense??????????????????????

I Hope so just ordered a new one from Karcraft $400 the main stealers wanted $665 British4wd $565.

Comments appreciated if you think this makes sense

Sounds to me like that would be the only cause other than the thermostat. I guess you will find out once the new fan is fitted. Matt
