    Dumbass Q of the week.

Booking the fender (95 130 tdi300 C/Cab ute) in to get radiator cleaned and rodded, dude says they are tricky to get out as intercooler needs to come off, etc.. (more $)

I says, 'nah, she's not intercooled..... . At least I don't think so'. He says most turbo's are.

    Is she intercooled from factory?

Told you it was a dumb ass Q...

    Hi Moorey
Get him to clean the core and rinse the intercooler out with acetone or even petrol, its a normal service item and will make a big difference in performance if its in need of a big clean.

Stuffed if i know... i just drive them till they break and give to Discoute to upgrade

I always thought meant turbo diesel injection... didn't know that had anything to do with an intercooler

Most turbo's run at very high speed - and generate a great deal of heat - and in this day and age most of them are - intercooled - using the engine cooling fluid to reduce the heat - and extend the life - of the turbo.

It just means it has water running round/through it to keep it cooler (or should I say less hot )

I thought Landrovers (and most other cars) had an air to air intercooler?
And most of the heat comes simply from compressing the air.
