Would be more cost effective to source a chassis locally and have it galvanised, i did see a 130 chassis for sale last year for not a lot.
Or have yours repaired professionally then galvanised.

The galvanising was not really the point, rather I am considering a new chassis that has not been subjected to fatigue and will give the vehicle a fresh start for future years of heavy use. I wouldn't buy an old chassis unless I was working on the sort of budget I had in my twenties and with the same sort of regard for the future.....has to be a reason why it is not still attached to the vehicle, right? Also I don't think I would galvanise an original chassis; they have not been designed from the outset with the process in mind so would likely have problems such as either with where the zinc cannot reach or where the etch acid penetrates and does not get effectively neutralised. A complex shape that is to be galvanised has to be designed with galvanising in mind from the outset; it seems that the replacement chassis designs have this sorted.
Still considering this as a possibility, certainly not an urgent one. There would be lots more to do to the vehicle to make it worth the trouble and then one has to consider whether the cost of all the 'lots more' is worth it.
Wondering now whether the Grenadier will come in a cab-chassis.....
What was the outcome did you end importing a new gal chassis ?
