Strong Double-Sided Tape - 110 Defender Side Repeater Light

    Hello All,

Can anyone recommend a brand of double-sided tape that you have found to work reliably?

I had to remove the side repeater indicator light off the driver's side mudguard so I could panel beat the area. The side light was bought new and installed a couple of months before I decided to panel beat an area of damage that occurred under the previous owner. During its removal the new side light's pins broke off and the original double sided tape does not stick on very well any more.

So, I am now reliant on getting a reliable and strong doubled-sided tape to hold the side light in place. My experience with double-sided tape is that some brands are absolutely useless even under in-door applications and they would be a total failure out in the weather. What would you recommend to fix the side light in place?

    Kind regards
    Lionel

I've used this with success ... not in a similar application though.

3M VHD tape works well. As an alternative, Supercheap sells a "trim glue" (designed for more or less the application you have) which is essentially black tinted contact cement. Seems to stick pretty good as long as the parts to be stuck mate up closely.

3m seem to be the products to trust…
Cleaning the surface is vital. Usual efforts with isopropyl alcohol etc. seem to be best!
