Cool Remove and clean injectors 200TDI

Hi Guys, anyone of you ever removed and cleaned the injectors and housing from a 200 TDI. I'm thinking about doing it myself.
Have you done it, any experience to share? Is it difficult? How long does it take. Is a concentrate waterbased degreaser good enough?

    Injectors

Servicing injectors on a TDi are in the realm of 'professionals' - they are a precision instrument of sorts, and not somthing serviceable in the field (So to speak). Some can be rebuilt - new nozzles and shims, but you need specialised testing equipment to get it right. Generally take them to a diesel injector specialist. If there is black soot around the injector, the copper sealing washer might be leaking, and you can replace that easily enough - be careful with the injector pipes, you do not want to damage them. If the fuel spill return lines are leaking, use Mercedes diesel return line (From your local diesel mechanic) and use medium cable tie wraps to secure them.

The most you could do is clean them in an ultrasonic bath, which in general will get them clean if you have access to one. You will not be able to bench flow test them though to check or see any improvement. Source some prices from the UK, it may be cheaper just to replace them.
