    ARB bullbar to classic rangie

bought this bar secondhand to fit to 2DR rangie, dead simple I thought just attach using the 4 standard bumper bolts, but on closer examination the mounting holes in the bar are almost the size of the heads on the standard bumper bolts, and it was mounted useing 6 bolts, so I guess I need to buy the biggest bolts that fit thru the chassis, anyway what I really need to know is, for the extra rear bolts, for which I need to drill a hole in the chassis do they need a crush tube inserted in the chassis to stop it from being squashed by tightening the bolts? or have I got this completely wrong and need extra parts maybe?

Yes you need larger bolts, i only have 4 on mine but if you drill the extra holes you will need crush tubes or it will be pointless fitting them - you will also need to weld the tubes in or at least tack them in.

Thanks for that, you have convinced me 4 bolts is ok, I spoke to the local agent who said, they don't use any crush tubes, dont tighten the bolts to much, I agree with you, they would not be doing much, may even weaken the chassis by drilling extra holes.
