    Disco Door Locks

    Hi All
I know Disco door locks have been discussed a lot, but I'm not sure if my door problem is different.
The rear door (boot) will unlock with the remote, but it doesn't lock again with the remote. I have pulled it apart for a look, but I am still not sure. Is there a spring that pulls the door lock down, or does the actuator thing pull it down? Where can I get a replacement actuator or spring and how much will it cost?
Where can I get some of the studs that hold the door trim on, most of them broke when I took it off?
    Thanks
    Alex

    Rear door

I've just replaced some stuff on my side door, and in relation to the door trim I can say that those trim plugs are available at (Trivett Parramatta at least) LR Spare parts no problem - except bring a trade ID of some sort. Trade price is 62 cents (Including GST) but retail is $2.20. each.

As to what pulls the lock down - it is the actuator, and they are the same for passenger doors and rear - find a 2nd hand one as AFAIK they can't be taken apart and repaired.

    ps: Here's one on ebay

Thanks Langy, I have put in a bid for that one on Ebay.

I have just been to super cheap auto and the kits they sell seem similar. The actuator has mounting holes in the same place so it looks like a simple change over. Does anybody know whether you can just wire it in to the LR central locking system by changing the plugs? Only $44 for the super cheap kit makes it a reasonably cheap repair and leaves another 3 actuators left over as spares.

The door lock is fixed now.

For anybody interested, the $10 slave solenoid from Jaycar is an easy fit and works on the original wiring harness once you change the plug over. It only took about 15 minutes and $10 to have it all back working again.

I know alot of people use the actutors that you can get from strathfield car radio or similar that come in central locking kits, cost bugger all and probably better. Matt
