I'm using ''Conoco Power D'' 15w-40 about $85 for 10lt. I'm going to say it's the best you can get it's a double hour oil that still reduces engine wear by over 40%. I strongly recommend looking for it and it's not that dear seeming it is double hour. For filters oil Wix 51515, about $9.50. Fuel Wix 33472 $27 Wix make very high quality filters from the US.

SuperCrap sometimes have Castrol Rx Super 20 litre drums on special - can't remember what it was last time I got one but I am sure it was under 100 bucks. It's about 7 litres per change ( if not changing filter ).

LoanRangie - At 7 litres per oil change, my calculator tells me that you will get nearly 3 oil changes out of a 20 litre drum. If you buy one more litre you will get the even 3. Pretty simple calculation there...

That was my fault I edited my post with the qty later
    - actually I think it is closer to 6 litres without changing the filter but whatever it is "about" 3 changes per drum - i.e. after the second change it is time to get a new drum.

You'll need a nice big pan to catch the oil. I cut the top off of those square 20 litre water containers so it has nice high sides and can fit as close as possible to the drain hole.

The filter is a real pain, IME - no real way to catch the oil, so it goes all over the diff and linkages. I leave filters for the shop to do every 10,000 km and just change the oil every 5,000 ( in between services. ) Maybe not the ideal but a filter should last 10,000 clicks shouldn't it ?

Sump is 5.8 litres without changing filter. I use Penrite Diesel 15 and change every 5,000kms. Oil filter gets changed every 10,000kms.

Filters are about $10. Can't remember how much for oil but its not too bad.
