    I would have thought any saw under 12" to be totally useless, ..... but I suppose its better than no chainsaw .

    I have a 16" Victa 40V saw, and think its the best chainsaw I've ever owned but still leaks oil if you store it over 1/2 full.

    I had lent my echo 2 stroke to a mate and needed a chainsaw, so I borrowed a 10" makita cordless from my old man. I got fed up with waiting for that to gently chew the wood so gave the Ryobi recip with a long wood blade a try. Still have the echo, but I don't recall the last time it came out. For the little stuff (<10") the recip does the job.

    I posted for the guys no bs attitude not on a electric v petrol comparison, although I am going to buy one just for small stuff and to take camping.
