Looks like mine is 1/2 UNF
ok, since there are a lot of different brands and types out there, what flow rate and filtration level should I be looking at for a 300Tdi application?
Does anyone know (100%) that the stock LR defender metal fuel line, with flared end, will seat and seal properly in a Delphi branded housing?
See pic for LR end. I have the correct thread housing (1/2 UNF) but as with both the original sedimenter and my new Delphi, its not the thread that creates the seal.
I will add a pic of the housing port when my camera recharges

The ports on the LR Lucas Sedimenter housing look the same as the ports on my new Delphi CAV housing as far as I can tell.
The LR Lucas housing has 5836B590 stamped on the the top.
The Delphi housing has 5836B100 stamped on the top.
I wonder if the corrosponding numbers are the port type or such. Either way it seems some close similarities. Apart from the ports, the mounting holes are identical.
I had to pack it out 30mm to give the housing 3-5mm clearance between the chassis rail. The LR sedimenter bowl is shorter and doesnt need it. The 2 fuel lines (in from tank and out to lift pump) are long enough (the fuel tank to filter is JUST long enough). Not sure im 100% happy with the location, but will have to have a think about it and see if I can come up with something better/safer.
So for a 1998 110, This Delphi unit (1/2 UNF ports) seems to be bolt on replacement for the LR Lucas sedimenter bowl, fitted to the rear of the chassis next to the fuel tank.
Whats the go with bleeding or such when changing filters, cleaning etc?

Looks good Serg - sorry I missed your call - was sorting out fuel issues on our 300tdi after having the fuel system disconnected for a few months...
I usually just take the car for a drive and make sure you are travelling at speed when the air pocket gets to the front.
Found the 1/2 to be the go also. Possibly the engine bay filter housing is metric but that doesn't matter now & I will keep running that also with longer changes.
The engine side connection I found would not seat all the way into the new head & you could wriggle the pipe slightly & also hear air getting sucked in while priming. Had a connection in better condition & no probs.
Since that job I did the sedimentor conversion on the 300tdi using the original head & base with a 296 in-between them & it was a straight forward job. I bought a 100mm 1/4in UNC bolt an cut some more thread onto it with a die as when 10mm is chopped off it leaves stuff all thread. Once trimmed down 10mm & all the parts are cleaned up plus seals are installed its just a case of assembly & refit. I used a Sekura brand filter but had to swap out the filter head centre O'ring for one that fit snug when the filter is on, as when the one in the box is fitted the filter is not sealing in the centre it just falls off.
Also as stated in previous posts & info I have come across in regards to which ports to run & the arrows meaning squat, which is the best way to run it?
I read a document from which has diagrams & an explanation on running the setup either as Filter Flow or as Agglomerator Flow. From what I understand the best way is agglomerator flow, but it will mean a shorter lifespan of the filter as opposed to filter flow, but with planned change at every 5000k & a cost of $6ea........????

I put one on my Iveco today to replace the ridiculous Lawnmower filter that they have between the tank and the Lift Pump

I used a Ryco housing / bowl with a Delphi cartridge, I dont like the plastic bottom retainer and thumbscrew, does anyone know if the CAV bolt & retainer will fit the Ryco housing as Wagga Tractor carry them as spares.
