    Sloppy pittman arm

I thought I had some slop in my tie rods (?) but it looks like the fenders pittman arm (I think thats what you call it, comes off the steering box) is shagged. Can you replace something at the bottom end (like tie rod ends), or is the whole thing likely to need replacing. Sorry, i know it's hard to call based to this description.

If the splines are worn then its a bin job, the balljoint is replaceable with a kit.

I assume you have tried to tighten up the nut. Mine is worn which causes the nut to come loose all the time but a quick tighten of the nut eliminates any movement for a while. Just recently I put a large spring washer on it and it has not come loose for ages.

Hi moorey if the pitman arm is worn or damaged where it bolts to the steering box the pitman arm is easily replaced, but if the shaft coming out of the base of the steering box is damaged i am afraid you will either need a new shaft or a new/used steering box. Matt

$80 for the whole pittman arm.....can't be a LR part we are discussing here .
Thanks, that's sweet, if that's all it is.
