Not sure I'm seeing this. IMO in both those diagrams the strop will do precisely nothing. Diag A will get closer to the desired result, but it's still too long. I'd be inclined to have a fourth block at the centre at the front. The military MK3 trucks had a central winch, the cable was routed under the vehicle rather than around it.
