You could probably simulate using a piece of rope.

What vehicle are you fitting the mid mount winch to??

I like the way Eric did his on THE109….1:1 pull backwards and 2:1 forwards, Cable running down the inside of chassis.

Yep, a nice short strop to only reach the centreline. Any reason you can't put another block in the middle to centre the line ?

Not sure I'm seeing this. IMO in both those diagrams the strop will do precisely nothing. Diag A will get closer to the desired result, but it's still too long. I'd be inclined to have a fourth block at the centre at the front. The military MK3 trucks had a central winch, the cable was routed under the vehicle rather than around it. Not sure you could do that on a 101FC.

Yes my thoughts are along the same lines but I thought the strop my negate the need for top and bottom rollers.
I can fit another block on the centre line but just trying to save another 90 degree angle.
I might see if I can fit a bridle underneath with the snatch in the centre and under the bull bar. Same thing as a centre block but wont need rollers as the bridle can move vertically to allow for vertical pull angle. The bridle would be shackled to the front end of the chassis rails. That should work eh?

I'm not sure it's necessary to get the line pull close to the centreline of the vehicle. With the Inter army trucks, the cable was brought from back to front down the chassis rail and a fairlead at the front of the chassis rail.

Yes I had that on the 6x6 camper I built but I dont have the space on this old girl.
I have had the winch on it for 30 years and its never been used in anger. Its just I am getting older and weaker and may need all the help I can get.
I think I will go for the bridle idea. Saves welding up a roller box and is not extra weight on the front. Only shackle it on when needed , hopefully never.
