yep, just call me dave "kim lucky" blears :P

sundays tasks went with relative ease, it is back on the road and quiet as a church mouse, after half an hour of bleeding the steering system... cant be any old fluid left in it i reckon :P

replaced the pump, top and bottom hoses, bearing in the spring loaded idler, fitted new drive belt, new white coolant tank, thermostat and outer thermostat housing, flushed all the coolant and refilled with fresh demineralised water and caltex coolant concentrate 50/50 or thereabouts..

the fan spanner and the locking spanner made life so easy to refit the fan... good value for $30 odd.

replaced the dodgy bolts from the p/s pump pulley with the water pump pulley bolts so they are easy to get at when i get some new replacements.

had just enough coolant and just enough auto fluid for the steering so that got rid of my stores...

just need to buy some redline diesel water wetter and i am happy....

it helps drag heat out of the block into the water as coolant with anti-freeze etc etc doesnt transfer heat all that well on its own, and the diesel version has a dye that shows up compression leaks....

    very good stuff IMHO

Was that loctite or araldite? Tap them with a hammer if you have any room. Been there and a hammer was all the encouragement needed, also had to do the same when removing a steering wheel from the the boat which had been on for maybe forty years, shockwaves must work quite well, as they've worked for me, good luck!
