    MY14 D4 SDV8 Extended Wheelbase Dual Cab Ute build

    G'day Guys,

    Been a while since I built anything, so here goes on my take of the Ultimate 4x4 Ute for my purposes!

    I'm building a MY14 D4 SDV8 Extended Wheelbase Dual Cab Ute/Pick Up build here in Sydney and the project has just kicked off - it could be a slow burn!!!

    I have sourced a donor MY14 D4 Update SDV6 with a spun bearing motor, fully dressed SDV8 4.4 Engine/ ZF 8 speed gearbox/transfer from a MY2015 L494 and a Radiator pack (radiator, a/c condenser, intercooler, shroud, etc) from MY12 SDV8 4.4 L322.

    The donor car is a mid spec car with a few accessories already but will be upgrading the Meridian Stereo to the high spec one, installing Android Auto / Apple Carplay, installing a cold climate pack and a rear E-diff while the body is off being shortened into a dual cab and extending the chassis by 900mm so we can have a 2100mm alloy tray

    How are you going to get around the engineering compliance of calibrating the stability control and other electronics with the longer wheelbase?
