Francois,
I recall my standard '77 model S3 SWB was officlially Camino Gold, but whenever I suggest that, everyone just looks at me! Is the colour more like the standard S3 gold, rather than the Canary Yellow of the Game?
Hi
I would appreciate some advice. I am after some touch up paint for my 1978 S3 Game landy and the paintcode plate on the car and the colour of the car does not match. The game model came out in this colour called Camino Gold (Reference 566 12137 Dulux) but it doesnt match even close to the paint when mixed by PPG. They have rechecked the formula and its correct to the paint code as on my car.
The landy is definitely not resprayed (I have seen the game model prior to m ine and on articles and its the exact colour as mine) but even LR Australia cannot find anything on their database. Looks like my landy comes from England and they are after a reply from LR UK.
I will appreciate if anybody can check against their paint code and if its Camino Gold verify if my plate is correct. Some pics of the colour.

Cheers

my 81 SIII hardtop is Bahama Gold Dulux reference 56615371. This is a common colour perhaps check it with yours
I just checked your gallery, mines the common gold/white scheme yours is more yellow.
And that landys way to clean, you'll have to come up to the Watagan's and get some mud on it![]()
Nice pics, The only car I wanted as a young lad was a Game I remember seeing it first in the Overlander mags my dad used to get. We had a serIII Lwb ute for my induction into the marquenothing to do with you paint but you veh photos brought a wave of fond memories of dad taking me bush bashing..Now I take him

My Game has the paint colour as Yellow Devil, I can't tell you the code numbers off hand. It is also a 1978 model.

G'day All, don't take anything that I say seriously but why do you have Victorian plate on the rear of the Land Rover and NSW plates in other shots?? not planning a heist of an ATMin a getaway car.
That sure looks like Yellow to me, my Series S/Wagon that I had about 20 years was Camino Gold and it wasn't that colour, and the faded Camino Gold Series 3 109 Diesel that I still have is not that colour. I have just re-read the article in the Overlander June/July 1976 it waffles on about the vehicle etc but doesn't mention the bloody colour, I mean the colour scheme really stood out at the time but sadly no mention of it, maybe a google search might reveal some other information cheers mate Dennis
PS just did a google search and it only had 1 response "Game" mentioned colour YELLOW and that was it, cheers

This is stretching the memory a bit..
I don't think the Games ever came out in Camino Gold. Weren't they were all that yellow colour as per your Gallery? Who knows where to track down that paint code.
THose were the days of CKD kits. Dulux must have way too much Camino gold. It was on everything at the time - the MGBs that were assembled at Zetland, and the Xj6s that were assembled in NZ - even Rover P6s, I think.
Not much consolation, but the paint code on my 2003 Xtreme doesn't match the car eirther..

Camino gold is that baby poo brown that you see on land rovers pretty commonly.
I've heard that the yellow that the games were painted in was bought cheap because it was leftover from something else.
