    TD5 Lifters - Lash adjusters

I currently am re assembling a reconditioned TD5 cylinder head & find myself with 3 different sets of hydraulic lifters. Two sets compress fairly easily - ie by hand & one set wont compress with pliers but do in the vice ( with wood to protect the surfaces)
After looking at various forums & Youtube videos it seems they should be "rock hard" so are the firmer ones be used or are they too stiff.

It's possible that the ones that compress easily have simply been sitting long enough to lose their oil.
Ideally they would all the same height when stood up, AND be hard to compress.
Sit the ones you choose in engine oil for a few hours before assembly.
