    Dual Battery using charge indicator.

On a Disco 1 300TDi , as anyone set up their dual battery system using the alternator warning light circuit to activate the the relay that sends charge to the second battery. ?

I have seen this done on other vehicles - it is better than just using an ignition sense because the second battery doesn't switch in until the alternator is fully online. Also provides a delay so your second battery is not in circuit on cranking.

If anyone has done this I'd like to know where the best place is to tap into the alternator wiring to drive the relay.

I know those commercial controllers are out there but I can't justify $300 on on of those right now.

Sorry waynep can't help you with your question - drivesafe would be the person you wanna speak to.

Have you had a look at his SC40 system? It's only $100 (supply only) and he gives us a discount
