Used injector copper washer carbon build up

    IMG_7147.jpg

(Washer on the left) Is the presence of carbon on the inside of the ‘indentation ring’ on an injector washer indicate its been leaking? Or because it is contained within the ring mean it’s doing it’s job?

My experience with a leaking copper washer is that the carbon film was over the whole face on both sides.

yep, normal ... done it's job.

Like Graeme says, you don't want it all across the face(even on just one side), which could mean it's escaping past the copper seal and up into the injector tubes and ruin the o-rings too.
