    300k and the three amigos

    Hi all,

Just hit 300k on the td5, reconditioned gearbox is going great. But the 3 amigos come to visit. Done the shuttle valve kit and now getting a electrical fault on the abs system (nanocom). If i do the stock 3 amigos wire fix will the abs and traction still work or does it just bypass the lights?

    Thanks all

ABS an TC will still work, you are just bypassing a bad earth in the ABS module.

Thanks mate, is it possible to remove it without removing the entire block? I’m a little nervous in removing the break lines.

Yes, you can access it without undoing the brake lines but you will feel a bit uncomfortable “forcing “ them bending them to reach the shuttle assy.
I wouldn’t worry too much about undoing the lines if you have access to a NANOCOM or similar. You need one to activate the power bleed program.

IIRC I used a very flat ratchet like this to get under the brake line/s or some other obstruction so that I didn't have to take the lines off.

Jip, got a nanocom, it won’t always talk to the abs module though… reports the electrical fault though when it does connect.

Yes, but it will when you fix it.

Ah so the earth adds to the comms
Issue. What size Allen key does it take if you can remember. Also how long will
it approximately take to remove and refit? The electrical will take about 20-30 min all up I recon.

4mm Allen. Call it an hour and a half all up, Land Rover gods willing.
