    starting issue early TD6

    Beast 03 TD6 with a 4 yr old LITHIUM starter battery(itechworld.com.au)
Last few weeks there's been a slight lag(1-3sec) between key and when the starter motor spins the engine.
Today its turn the key--nothing, turn off turn on beast starts properly.
After a 60klm run with 2 stops, both times had to off-on to get it to fire.
Battery showing 13.53v so it has enough juice in it.
Checked all the connection points - there all nice and tight.K's is 288654
Popped down the road to get some degreaser and it fired up straight away
So what else would I be looking for that would be causing my issue eg starter motor, ignition barrel etc, etc.
Also spoke to people who make the battery and they said it should last between 4 to 9 years.
Going by the voltage after my run I think I got another 1-3 years of life in it.
I normally go for a hwy run if I been down the local shops as its
    a) diesel
    b) LR diesels dont like short runs
    c) they have LOTS of electricals in them to flatten battery at the slighest opportunity lol
    d) its a rangie lol
    Any help greatfully appreciated

    cheers

When you turn the key on, do all the normal lights light up before it delays the start?

Voltage isn't really an indicator of Lithium life. The more shagged the battery the quicker it will charge and sit with an elevated voltage. They just behave like a much smaller capacity battery with the same voltages. They just charge and discharge faster.

The only way to get a proper indication of life is a discharge cycle test.

All normal lights appear before I hit the starter, then only a couple of them when I hit it.
I'll check tomorrow which ones only stay on when I hit it if it doesnt start 1st go--then I'll see if its the same when it starts.

My first port of call would be the solinoid, but they often give warning by clicking, before starting.

Well I went out yesterday and each time I had to start the beast it fired up straight away.
Have put my problem on fullfatrr site in UK and it could be the ignition switch,so I will change that and see how I go.
    Thanks for the feedback.

    cheers
