    low coolant warning

    Hello,

Can anyone help?, I've got a 92 RR Classic, the warning light on the dash for low coolant keeps comming on, there's plenty of coolant, no leaks, water level is allways fine, temp never goes up no matter what, the sensor on the resevoir ( sp? ) is all conected and seems o.k

So what the f%&'s going on??, just one of those annoying things..

Is the float on the sensor stuck at the bottom of the shaft ?
The sensor works off a reed switch which the float operates.

If the float moves OK, remove the sensor, connect an ohmmeter across the terminals & move the float up & down to see if it goes from open circuit to closed circuit.

From memory the circuit opens when the coolant level goes low.

So a faulty connection in the wiring could cause the light to come on.
