Pedro - do you know the actual engine model number?
Should be on a name plate next to the oil filler.
Suitable for a 1988 Japanese V10 NA Diesel.....
On a very busy ( and scarey ) Sturt Highway it needed 1850rpm for 100
Reasons for recommendations needed.....
I can find them being used in a Giga model Isuzu in 2016 in Japan..
Apparently a Valvoline product was used last service.
It starts and runs fine, its very quiet, but blows some blue smoke under load and the Oil pressure gauge reads less than 3... somethings??
Hasnt been used for 5 months, trip home yesterday was 90mins.
On another note. The bus tend to wander.... ( see line two above...) straight ahead is anywhere from 2 to 10. Has new tyres all round.
As always, all comments Welcome

The reply from Penrite was "we have NO bus info...."
They then asked us to consider their "HPR Diesel 15"

I can find on-line a free manual for the 10PD1, which is the smaller V10 which was also fitted to the Isuzu Super Cruiser bus, but looks like you will have to buy the manual for the 10PE1. You will find several sites that have the 10PE1 manual available for download.
These are the lube specs for the 10PD1 and 12PD1:
Do you know what oil grade was last used? And how do the oil pressures and temps compare to the specs listed for the 10PD1?
I would be inclined to go up to a 10W40 or even 15W40 grade oil (15W40 seems to be what Isuzu Trucks Australia recommend for all diesel engines from that era).
Time to find yourself a good Isuzu Truck and Bus Indy!

Just do a 15W-40 diesel engine oil.
You understand blue smoke is fuel and not engine oil?
