egt stands for exhaust gas temperature..........

this lets you know if you are getting the exhaust system too hot......especially while towing......
under heavy loads with wide open throttle you work the engine hard and raise the exhaust teperatures
to dangerous levels......which can damage the turbo as its the first thing in the exhaust.......

Especially if you tweak the TDi from factory standard..just ask TAZ about his 700 degree trip up our hill... got up fast though even if his engine was a mini Chernobyl..

Thanx defenderzook i had no idea so if it gets to hot whats the solution pullover or put a bigger pipe on it
