Hi fellas.

I bought my 2nd landy yesterday. Quite stoked with it. A nice towcar for the boat. A 1997 V8i 4x4 Discovery auto (petrol) with 160 000 on the clock in black metallic. Wanted a TDI but heaps more expencive. I had a look everywhere and it seems to be Ok price. Well I think so after seeing prices everywhere else. What do you fellas reckon ?

Its in pretty good nick but it stood for 2.5 years hence the throttle body needs cleaning. Other than that motor seems good. Just in for a proper service now. Interior is in good condition.

Only problem I could find were a few small rust spots under the two roof windows. What is the easiest painless method to treat/fix them ? Had a look on the forums and couldnt find it.

The chassis, bonnet, doors all are perfect its just the very small spots under the roof windows. I understand this is a common problem as I looked at lots private and dealers cars before buying this one privately and lots had it.

What else major should I look for ? And its not like im looking at spending money if its not broken. Just things I should know being new to this landy thing.

The hoses, leads and all electrical are in great nick as the previous owners dad had it fully serviced all the time and it shows, well until a few years ago. Its a estate car. The motor didnt miss a beat driving it back to the Central Coast. Petrol guzzler but its a great car to drive. only the idling because of the throttle body.
