i'm having them replaced with stainless as i write. i'll let you know the outcome.

i also discovered last night the the rear shoes have a leading and trailing sections and that some idiot (me) had put 2 trailing shoes on one side and 2 leading shoes on the other! i swapped them round and it made a marginal difference.


it's still at the garage having further investigations. the guy there hopes its a faulty snail cam that not allowing the shoe to adjust properly and slipping when perssure is appllied through the pedal. here's hoping.

The flexible rubber brake line hose can sometimes swell when brake fluid pressure is applied. I had one of those. You pump the pedal and all you do is blow the hose out like a balloon and the brake fluid doesn't get pressure to activate the caliphers. Check them to see if they are soft
