Series 2a Clutch Master Cylinder
Yesterday I replaced the clutch master cylinder in my 2a. For the second time this year. At least everything came undone easily. I have not yet pulled the old one apart to see why it failed (leaked fluid onto the floor), but I suspect it may be because it is a (new) spare I have had for a number of years.
Using the method of removing the whole pedal assembly, it took about three and a half hours, but this included repainting the pedal and pedal bracket which had got fluid on them, waiting for the paint to dry, and also included a thorough clean and washing in metho of the reservoir, although the fluid looked perfect, as you would expect when it had only been there for six months. Also made and fitted a new gasket for the pedal bracket to bulkhead.
