Good evening forum,

We are making return plans to go upto the tip next year and also the flinders rangers prior to the tip.

Based on our previous visit to the tip it was a dusty trip etc. because of the road conditions I decided to source a snorkel to the 2006 D3 v6 4.0lt. petrol Engine.

A few fitters advised no snorkel avaible for my petrol motor. However, one fitter in Melbourne ( I live 2hrs out of Melbourne) suggested that I came up to his shop so they could check the air filter box.

I did go in to the shop, the next trip up to Melbourne, and on checking the box they stated that it’s the same box as the diesel engine therefore will work on the petrol engine. I said it would let him know.

I did some internet research and found that LR Parts in the Uk are sell safari snorkels for the 4.0lt petrol. I contacted them and they suggested the safari snorkel I’d# DA3021, and it was the same as our Aust. Safari ss385hf. Based on this communication I had the ss385hf snorkel fitted.

So after all the above rambling has any AULRO member/s had this snorkel fitted to their D3 4.0lt petrol and have they had any issues with the car after fitting?

Since having mine fitted last Monday (23/09/2024) that my unit on occasions seems to idle slightly rough, or is this normal.

As always any input would be appreciated.

Regards,
