Hi Brains Trust,

Relatively new to this world but purchased a 23.5MY P400 SE. I like to try and do any mods myself and have done a couple since purchase.

Recently purchased a Lazer Lamps Linear-18 Elite Kit for the Defender and have a couple of verification type questions to confirm I'm on the right path for the install. Reason I'm asking is that if a product is sold as a kit then it should have detailed enough instructions for the purchaser to install it rather than be pointed to someone else to do it. Alas, the instructions in my mind aren't quite explicit enough hence this 'reach out'.

I've laid out the wiring loom and the majority is straight forward.

Q. Item 1 in the photo is a manual switch which as I understand it, is a mandatory requirement in Victoria, Australia to be able to turn the lights off if required. Is this correct? If it is required I plan to mount it as shown in the photo under the dimmer control. If its not required do I run the purple wire (Item 3) straight to the big relay in the top right hand corner of the photo?

Q. Item 2 picks up a permanent 12v power source and a suitable negative? Where can I pick up a permanent 12v power source either under the passenger seat or the fuse box behind the glove box?

Q. Item 3/4. In the Lazer Lamp instructions, it says to connect Item 3 (purple wire) and 4 (green wire) to the same colored wires in the Lazer Wiring harness but the only spare unused cable (which is purple) is coming from one side of the switch. So do I connect the purple wire from one side of the switch to the purple wire from the CANBUS Interface (white box)? I understand that if your Lazer Lamps had a position indicator function you would have another wire that connects to the green wire (Item 4) so as I don't have that function, do I just not do anything with that wire?

Q. Last but not least, can I connect into the CANBUS behind the the drivers side (right hand drive) dash end plate? Reason is that I would prefer not to have to run across under the dash from the drivers side to the passenger side then along the under the transmission inside trim to under the passenger side seat to access the CANBUS there (which is where Lazer Lamps points you to). If I had to do it that way (run it to under the passenger seat), does anyone know if or where an ignition switched 12v power source is under the passenger seat?

I'm using a CANBUS reader so I don't have to hard wire/tap into the CANBUS itself. Thankfully!

I might be asking a lot above but any assistance grateful.

Thanks
