hate to say this, but mine did the same going up the range when changing down to pass. nearly stalled. That was the catalyst to disconnect the clutch switch. Has not done it since.
Switched it back in for a trial and it displayed the same symptoms. Try it and see for yourself.

Had the service done yesterday and checked the harness dry as a bone
no oil anywhere. Mechanic doesn't have a computor to check. i can't get it booked into Monday.
But a funny thing happened to day driving around my jobs it would carry on like it is starving for fuel, more so at around 3000 revs in all gears.
This arfternoon I had to go out to Ipswich to a job and put the cruise control on to see how if it would carry on the same no problems. Tonight we went shopping and it didn't matter how many revs I gave it in each gear it ran like a dream, so will see what happens tommrow, but will still get it checked out on Monday.

Might be off the mark here but thats close to one of the symptoms of my old petrol disco when the fuel pump was getting ready to cark it...

The symptom started higher in the revs and slowly worked its way down, IE would starve at 5500 rpm then gradually work its way down to my normal rev range. If I stomped hard on the loud pedal it would give a brief surge of power then die out only to slowly pick up again untill it hit the "starvation revs"

you might also have a clogged or snotted filter.

Sikaflex would not be a good idea as it will be almost impossible to take it apart in the future.

Hi guys sorry it's taken so long to get back with the answer to the problem as the computor has been on a go slow as someone used all the downloads for a month in 2weeks. Why won't teenagers leave home?
The problem was the POTENTIOMETER. meaning a new one
    $245.00 for the part.
This could have been a problem ever since I have had it as with the cruise control set if I put my foot on the accalertor to pass nothing would happen, I put it down to the driving by wire things but now that it's fixed I can put my foot down and it will accalerte

    Cheers

This is becoming a common theme. I think I'll have to put one on as a spare.
