    exhaust manifold torque value

Just repaced gaskets on exhaust manifold on my County-Isuzu 4bd1.
My manual doesn't give a torque setting on the bolts and as they are old dont want to over tighten them.
    Anyone with the torque setting?
    Thanks,
    David.

Tighten in sequence to 11.6 - 18.8 ft.lbs. The book gives kg-m for the metric version not newton-metres, so I won't give that.

Sequence is given by the following order, looking at the manifold from the side:-

    5 1 4 8
    6 2 3 7

Note that there are different length studs - you should make sure they go back where they came from.

My 4BD1 manual gives the torque on page 1-11 and on page 2-47.

    Torque is 1.6 to 2.6 kg.m, or 11.6 to 18.8 ft.lbs. To convert kg to N (Newtons), multiply by 9.81, which gives 15.7 to 25.5 N.m.

Tightening order of bolts from front to rear, top then bottom is:
    5, 1, 4, 8
    6, 2, 3, 7

Where did you get your 4BD1 manual? Can you still buy it?
I got one from when I brought the truck - Landrover one ten Repair Operation Manual (Australia) which is a green folder. There is a section on the engine with diagrams but very basic.
Also where can I get a manual on the taper bearings transfer gears as used in the army LT95

    Thanks. David

I got mine from Four Wheel Drives in Box Hill (Melbourne, but they advertise here) - that was twelve years ago, but I'd be surprised if they do not still have them.
