Recommendations for under bonnet heat protection with acrylic lacquer top coat

					Hi Folks,

Just finished a respray of my 86 rangie at home in acrylic lacquer (I kinda like my lungs the way the are and dont have 2 pack PPE or a booth). The original under bonnet blanket is in tatters and so I'm seeking another solution that will prevent the top coat from blistering (I used Protec Dulon paint). I spoke to the Car Builders mob in Kilsyth about their products but they could not guarantee that their Premium Under Bonnet Insulation Under Bonnet Insulation pad, sound absorber, foam insulation, peel and stick would be effective because they were not familiar with the paint. Their peel and stick heat shield stuff would probably be more effective (certainly to block radiant heat) but I suspect at around 4mm thick that it wouldn't be great for conduction/convection.

Anyone else had any experience with products to protect acrylic lacquer ?

 Thx in adv.
 Cheers
