Fuel lines crack from Tdi lift pump

Has anybody else had this problem?

I've owned 2 300 Tdi Discoveries and both have had the same problem: the fuel lines running to the lift pump on the side of the block crack at the pump and leak. The only fix is to replace the pump. I had my first Discovery for 80000 and did 3 pumps and my current one has just done its 3rd pump after having had it for 130000 (it's got 270000 total).

Are these pumps just bad or what? I've always had both cars properly serviced and new pumps installed by LR specialists.

Norm, $35 fix ,go to Pirtek or the like and have flexible fuel lines replace the ridgid plastic ones, the problem stems from a fixed filter on the firewall to a moving lift pump on a vibrating engine joint by inflexible plastic lines... I have done both my 300's and no problem since.
