I average 15l/100km in the 4ltr v8 Disco. hahahaha
I have only recently brought a 2002 discovery and I am a little unhappy with the fuel consumption. I have calculated that I am getting 15L/100km around town and 11L/100km on the highway. Before I brought my discovery friends who are discovery owners claimed they were getting 10L/100km or better.

All my friends who have the V8 4.0ltr get 16 & upwards, just depends on how heavy there foot is on the day.
But an average of 16-18 is the norm.
It is a td5
OOps..Sorry thought it was a V8 with those figures..
I get an ave of 11.5, but mine is pre-update. After the update they did chew a little more juice, on ave around 12ish.
Maybe a MAF(mass air flow sensor), have u checked your air filter, can have a huge effect on fuel.
Just some thoughts.
Sorry Hot Rover,
I knew it was a diesel, thought i would throw my two bobs worth in.
Gday guys, new here as you can see. I have only had my P38 for a short time, and trying to keep a close eye on consumption. It's giving me around 14 from the bayside to Archerfield as a daily drive to work and back. and yes it does depend on how heavy the foot goes.
I have to say i love the Land Rover bug there is around the world. Never knew it was out there. I gues wrtting off my L'cruiser was the best thing I ever did...lol.
Cyclone, any preference which oil company for your unleaded? Do you use PULP?Originally Posted by cyclone
According to the Poms, The auto TD5 diesel gets far poorer consumption than the manual.
You do not say what yours is.
I read recently that the auto TD5 gets 11-12l per 100Kms on the highway (in UK)

My auto TD5 disco gets 10l/100km around town and on the freeway. Low range and towing isn't that good though
