Maxidrive locker wiring
Can someone help with a wiring diagram or equivalent explanation of the wiring for a current model rear maxidrive locker for a salisbury axle?
It's a long story, but the locker is fitted (inc loom, tank and solenoid), but not yet plumbed into vacuum or wired in. It's going back to where it is being fitted to complete this, but if I can I'd like to complete the wiring myself but don't have access to the wiring diagram.
As I understand it, the Hella pull switch switch delivers a positive 12v from ignition+'ve to the solenoid. I've already installed the switch in the cab. A twin core wire, when the switch is on, delivers a 12v feed from IGN to the engine bay (red). The black is wired to the pin on the lamp. I have this twin core routed to the engine bay - but currently not connected to anything.
There is a twin core (4mm I think) coming out of the loom from the locker (along with air lines) in the engine bay.
There are 2 thin black wires coming out of the solenoid.
How is it all wired up?

Well.............
I don't know if the current crop of MD lockers are the same as the past.
In the past the locking mechanism was operated by vacuum.......... could also be operated by pressure, but uncommon. The tank you mention subsets th is still the case. IF it is............
The 'solenoid' that the two little wires come out of sounds like the actuator on the diff housing and those wires go to the light that says whether the diff is locked or not. The actuator is powered by air pressure, normally vacuum. Mine have been modded to run on pressure.
My advice would be to let the installer finish the job.
Have a look here :
