    Question Peace of mind...

    Hi All,

My first time on the forum (be nice...) and owning a Land Rover too as I've just bought a 2003 V8 Discovery (smart choice in the middle of the highest petrol prices Australia has seen but hey...!)

Mega impressed with the off-road capability, even in stock form, but one thing that suprised me was the noise (best described as a loud whirring noise from the pumps/valves I assume) from the traction control when climbing, and from the hill descent system when going down the steep stuff. Help my peace of mind please: is this normal?

    Thanks,

    Greg

Yes perfectly normal - the ABS is also working - and as you say the valves and the pump are quite loud.

At least you know when it's working
