Ciggy lighter back light
I'm installing a volt meter on the Defender and mounting it on the side of the centre cubby, between the cubby & the drivers seat, a quick glance down will show me a reading, no messy holes to drill (I might put a gauge cluster on the dash once I get further aux gauges), and it's close to the batteries.
My question is : what's the best place to pick up a feed for the dash lights?
Can anyone tell me where I can find the most accessible wire?
The fuse for parkers / dash lights runs some other stuff, so it's always got power, so I can't come off the back of the fuse box.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Ciggy lighter back light
or try the feeder plug for the lighter socket. its on when your on accessories or when your on ignition
I may not have been paying enough attention but it looks like the back light only comes on with the dash lights.

Thanks guys.
I had pulled the lighter panel off last night when I first had a look at the job and it seemed a little cramped for feeding wires up into; and I wondered whether there might be a better pick up.
But after your comments I had another look at it today in better light and found it easy enough to feed a wire through. Jobs done![]()
Pics dude, send in the pics.... now that im getting close to being out of warrenty im gettin ready to play butcher with the dash...
