The 130 studs are longer, and I believe it is fairly simple to change them, although I have never done so, and the workshop manual (for my 110) says to replace the hub if the studs are damaged!

I have brought a set of Defender 130 HD rims and want to put them on a LR 110 (1985). The studs aren't long enough, the wheel nuts sit 3-4mm above the stud face. The rim is much thicker than the current rims.
Do they come in different lengths?
Is it an easy job to change wheel studs?
Thanks

Well if they are like any standard stud they take a steel punch and one hell of a hammer to belt them out. Had to do this recently on a trailer and it was a pain in the ****. I thought it was crap they would move and finally one gave. They basically have spines that run parralel with the stud to hold them in place prior to tightning.
Just out of interest where did you get the rims from, and how much, I'm chasing some myself.
I put an add in AURLO wanted and brought some rims. I also brought some off ebay.
I will be going to Karcraft tomorrow to get some more parts for my project so will ask about stud sizes. Will compare to the Defender130.
My manual also says replace hub if stud damaged. Might be an interesting exercise to change 20 studs!
Went to Karcraft and brought a 130 stud. They didn't have the early county studs in stock.
The new stud is 40mm long. I measured the studs in the county at 45mm.
In the front hubs they are seated a little higher than a later 130 but overall not much difference. The problem is the rear drums where the drums take 7mm not leaving much of the stud.
I still want to use the HD rims but wont pass rego (have to get a blue slip when all done) as the wheel nut doesnt use all threads on stud.
Can these be manufactured to say 48 - 50 mm long?
Will be really disappointed if I have to sell the rims!
Blue slip it with standard rims

I think you mean that the nut does not fully screw onto the stud and that there are unused threads in the nut. I hope so. An old fitters rule of thumb, and also a quality control standard was " three threads through". If some nut case pedantic blue slip inspector insists that the nut and stud have to be flush then he is a right royal d------d an should not have his licence.Originally Posted by defenderbilby

Yep, about 1 thread short. I would be happy flush or 3 threads through.Originally Posted by Brian Hjelm
In the rta guidelines it states "the wheel must not prevent the wheel nuts from fully engaging their studs.
I have just found that Zeus make extension studs so have sent them an email.
Of course you could turn a couple of millimetres off all the nuts - would not weaken them significantly, and would make it all legal unless someone took a ruler to the nuts.Originally Posted by defenderbilby
As you may know, all Series 1/2/2a except the last of the 2a had double sided nuts that did not "fully engage the studs", so I don't know how they deal with that!
