    Engine-Saver Coolant Alarm.

    Anyone had experiences, good, bad or indifferent, with this Alarm as advertised on here?

    Certainly looks interesting, but I thought I'd ask the question.

    Got to be less expensive than a blown V8i.

    Hi 4bee - if you can't be bothered doing it yourself, go and see Sovereign Motors down in Angus St. They were pretty cheap (from memory $180 fitted I think - but it was a year or so ago) and did a nice job on mine.

    I fitted the ems model that is advertised here as well I liked the fact that it covered low coolant,temp,oil and charging so covers all the bases and easy to fit
    disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
    detriot locker,lsd front,C.D.L kit,chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift,rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

    I dissagree with your second statement.

    If you have a sudden loss of coolant, a guage won't tell you. This is because there is no coolant at the temp sensor for the guage. Hence people are interested in low coolant level alarms.

    I have the engine saver alarm fitted to my disco. Was easy to fit and the start up self test works. I hope I never get to know if it works (or not)!

    Is yours the latest one with the lamp, & if so, where did you fit the light?

    Mine has a led warning light.

    I mounted it in the blank cover where the headlight levelling controls go (not fitted to my basic model). This is alongside (left of) the control for the external mirrors.
