Got cruise control? If so, there was a thread along similar lines not that long ago.

While out driving this morning, without warning I completely lost acceleration.
Drifted to a stop on the side of the road. Engine was still running (at idle speed).
Accelerator made no difference - it just wasn't working.
Some lights were showing on the dash.
1. Engine check light.
2. Both mode lights flashing on and off. (Manual & Sport modes)
Switched engine off and waited for a couple of minutes and then re-started the engine.
Everything OK again.
Is this a normal thing for a TD5 or was I dreaming?
Is there something I should be checking or is it a case of 'If its working - leave it alone'
Some advice would be appreciated.

Opening guess says intermittant fault in the throttle sensor or its connections...
IT had a burp and upset the brain box... turniing on and off has done a reset and when its done its Post power up checks its been ok and its logged a fault and carried on. get someone with a power book to hook up and interrogate the brain.
Backup guess says its something to do with the TX brain and one of its sensors... If for some reason the TX brain has gotten its panties twisted in just the right way it will stick the engine on idle so that the pumps will run to keep the box lubed and keep the TX coolers running. Same reset fault thingy... best guess on faulty sensor for the box would be the temp sensor or the tx pressure sensor reading way to high.
